One of the promises of virtualization and NFV orchestration is the level of automation and agility that they enable. This agility and reduced need for human involvement in provisioning new network elements will allow service providers to shorten service provisioning cycles, thus opening the door for experimentation with new network offers. Having service providers design and deploy services within days rather than months may sound a bit like networking science-fiction, but it is possible. Virtualizing equipment, deploying NFV orchestration stacks, and introducing SDN controllers and new agile processes will go a long way towards allowing operators to implement that vision. Download our white paper and find out how NFV and SDN allow faster creation and deployment of services.
